Plast4Future Workshops 2015 - Save the date & register now

Join our workshops & gain a unique insight into Nanostructure injection moulding

Plast4Future kindly invites you to its three European Workshops on Nanostructure injection moulding. The workshops will take place in October and November 2015 in three different locations across Europe and are free of charge.

Interested? Then join one of our workshops by registering here.

The workshops will give you an insight into the EU funded Plast4Future (P4F) project which has succeeded in developing a new Injection Moulding Production Technology for Multi-Functional Nano-Structured Plastic Components enabled by Nano Imprint Lithography. For a detailed overview on the project, please have a look at our brochure here.

TOPICS:

  • Introduction to the P4F project
  • Functional inserts
  • New steel for inserts
  • Surface finishing and metrology of inserts
  • Molding
  • Interaction / showing demonstrators

MEETING VENUE & DATE:

  1. Workshop: KIT - Karlsruhe Technology Centre, Karlsruhe (Germany), 21. October 2015
  2. Workshop: CRF - Centro Ricerche Fiat, Orbassano (Italy), 11 November 2015
  3. Workshop: Lego Group Headquarters, Billund (Denmark), 25 November 2015

If you like to receive more information about the event, please contact Eva Schneider, [email protected].

We are looking forward to welcoming you to our workshops.

About Plast4Future

Plast4Future (P4F) is an EU funded project which is developing a new Injection Moulding Production Technology for Multi-Functional Nano-Structured Plastic Components enabled by Nano Imprint Lithography. The new technology works by enhancing the lateral resolution on free-form surfaces down to micro- and nanometer length scales. This is achieved through the development of a complete nanoimprint lithography solution for structuring the free-form surface of injection moulding tools and tool inserts. In this manner, plastic objects are manufactured directly in the injection moulding process with micro- and nano-patterns in the surface.

For developing functional surfaces by nano-texture, the P4F project focuses on the development of four functionalities for direct integration in the injection moulding process: Anti-reflection, Hydrophobic & self-cleaning, Anti-fog and Color. Based on state-of-the-art and deep knowledge of physics and by using simulation tools the aim is to develop surface structures that have similar effects to those structures found in nature.
